President George H.W. Bush

In 1985, Doug Wead served as an advisor to then Vice President George H. W. Bush and helped organize his presidential campaign.  In March 1987, Wead reported directly to his son, George W. Bush and served as the campaign liaison to constituent groups.  In the general campaign he was Deputy Director of Voter Coalitions and later served as Special Assistant to the President in the Bush Senior White House.  From 1997-2000, Mr. Wead served as an informal advisor to George W. Bush in the years leading up to his election as president. Wead also co-authored a book with President Bush called "Man of Integrity."

Lincoln Saved The Nation, Reagan-Bush Saved Humanity!

President George H.W. Bush will be ranked one of the greatest presidents in American history. He was born into a family of public service and grew up wanting to give back to the country that gave him so much. Reagan started the process to end the Cold War and called for the Berlin Wall to be torn down. However, it was under George H.W. Bush that the war ended and the Berlin Wall finally came down.

The Legacy of George H.W. Bush

President George H.W. Bush was very kind and forgiving and did not like bullies. He was tough and could make hard decisions. However, he preferred to rely on others like his Chief of Staff or son, George W. Bush to be his "stocking horse" who would be tough and take the lead. Bush would come in after them and show kindness, heal the wounds, and make things work.
